The Light Side

“The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It’s an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together.” Ben Kenobi

“For my ally is the Force. And a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow.” Yoda

As a force user grows in power, they quickly learn there are two aspects to the force, one of them being the dark side. A great lure to power, but wise Jedi Masters of the past have always warned of the dangers going down such a path. But, what of the rewards of staying true to the teachings of the Jedi Code?

Once a large enough number of Light side points have been accumulated, your character will notice that his use of the force begins to come to him easier, draining his Life force less, and eventually, increasing his raw power over the force, giving a boost to the corresponding attribute. Those without the ability to wield the force, will find luck and chance begin to favor them, even without the life ability: Lucky.

Whereas Dark Side points are easily obtainable through use of the dark side of the force, or evil acts such as killing someone who poses no threat to you. Light side points are much more difficult to obtain.

A few ways to acquire Light side points are…

  • Granting mercy, kindness, or forgiveness to those who do not deserve it, and may likely bring you harm in the future.
  • Working towards the greater good of the galaxy, such as freeing a large group of slaves, ending corruption of a government, and other grand things.
  • Something else the GM believes worthy of rewarding a light side point.
